I've been completely swamped lately, and have neglected to post anything new, though I thought I'd share some of my new digital prints. I first sketched these, and used the ol' colored pencils and paints, then digitally enhanced them in Photoshop. I guess I've been a little obsessed with Marie Antoinette lately, and have always loved Miss Wonderland too, so here they are...

Here is one of the ornaments I made last week that I'm finally posting. I love the whimsical imagery and color tones. Not to mention this devoted Mermaid Mama protecting her babe from the Great Pink Octopus!!

Although wearing a Snuggie all winter long seems like a fabulous idea to stay warm (Ummm...NOT), don't let your fashion sense die along with the leaves on the trees. Put that wearable cult blanket aside and mix it up a bit. Here are my handmade picks of the day as I sit at my computer freezing to death...BRRRRR!!!!

My ornament-making went alright last night. However, by the time I got situated, I was pretty wiped out and didn't get as far as I would have liked to. There are simply not enough hours in a day. The ornaments I started are mermaid and vintage-inspired! I will definitely post some pics once they are complete.
On the subject of ornaments, I came across these really adorable, hand-stitched Ginger Bread Man Ornaments today. The craftsmanship is amazing, and their cute little faces definitely put a smile on face!
The designers, Vivian and Tiago, have a vast collection of captivating toy-art that range from weird (the good weird) to cutesy kool, AND are appealing to ALL AGES! Check them out at their etsy shop and at www.vivikas.com, (which has some kickin'craft tutorials).

I honestly dread wearing tights b/c they always bunch, and never look or fit right. Heck, my legs aren't my best feature, in my opinion, but I would actually look forward to putting a pair of these on, would feel confident showing off these stems for once.

Rest assure, this is not a mother/daughter shop dispute or breakup. We decided to expand to another shop, especially since I just started with an expansive collection of jewelry, ornaments, prints, wooden purses and the list goes on.
Some time next week, I plan on opening up MELLEBELLE 2. "Belle's Trinkets & Treasures Collection". It's exciting to branch off a bit and leave room in Mom's portion of the shop. I can hopefully now sign up on etsy with the MELLEBELLE name. When I started the shop back in 2007, I signed up with my name, thinking it was just a sign-in/password deal, and not the shop name itself. Yep, I messed up and it's impossible to change, unless we wanted to start the shop over, losing our feedback and such.
Here's the prospect banner for this expansion. The font/type reflects more my style, color scheme is the same and the name is forever :)
